Team TireMonkey pulls into Martinsville - Posted on March 25th, 2010
Led by driver Mario Gosselin, Team TireMonkey.com arrived at the Martinsville Speedway today in preparation for Saturday’s Kroger 250 truck race.

“We’re excited,” Gosselin said before embarking Wednesday on the long trek from his home in Lake Wales, F.L., to Martinsville, V.A. “We can’t wait to get there and see what kind of weekend we’re going to have.”

The race begins at 2 p.m. Saturday and will be aired live on SPEED, the Motor Racing Network and Sirius XM radio. But before Gosselin takes his official 250-lap, 131.5-mile trip around the Martinsville track, there are two practice sessions and Friday’s 4:40 p.m. qualifying session to contend with.

“We just have to work really hard on the truck handling good,” Gosselin said. “And you know, at Martinsville, track position is very important which, in turn, means qualifying is important. It’s very hard to pass.”

Known as the “Pretty Paperclip” due to its oval shape, the Martinsville track is 0.526 miles long and offers seating for 65,000 spectators. The Kroger 250 is the first of five short track races on the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule.
